suena energy is a green tech startup specializing in algorithmic energy trading for energy storage systems and renewable energies.
Our vision : a world where clean energy is used reliably, economically, and intelligently. With our AI-based optimization and trading software, we maximize the revenues of operators of large-scale energy storage and renewable assets on short-term electricity and balancing markets—while simultaneously minimizing their risks.

We are a 30-people team, which combines coziness and fast-paced dynamics. We are actively scaling this year, welcoming new talents!
This is a greenfield role : as the first hire in Finance, collaborating directly with our CFO, you’ll play a key part in building and evolving our controlling, reporting and financial planning landscape from day one.

Your mission

• Set up, own, and continuously develop all controlling and reporting processes —covering investor reporting, monthly management reports and financial forecasting.
• Automate and streamline  workflows using tools like Hubspot, Datev, Candis and Power BI.
• Analyze and project cash flows, develop scenarios and ensure financial transparency for our growing asset portfolio.
• Work closely with Miguel (CFO), tax advisors, and cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Success, Data Science) to integrate financial data, support budgeting and align on business goals.
• Contribute to strategic finance topics, such as developing collateral solutions for power trading and supporting financial analysis for our European expansion.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues, challenge assumptions and ensure our numbers are always accurate, understandable and actionable.

Your profile

• Proven success building and shaping controlling and reporting structures —ideally in a growth or startup environment.
• Strong finance know-how and solid grasp of financial statements & accounting (HGB is a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills. Hands-on experience with tools like Hubspot, Datev, Candis and Power B is a plus.
• Experience automating finance processes (e.g. billing, reporting).
• Fluent German (min. B1) for tax/legal topics and English (min. B2) for internal collaboration.
• You’re structured, reliable, and detail-oriented as well as proactive, hands-on, and comfortable taking responsibility.
• You have an analytical mindset with the drive to question processes, spot errors, adapt quickly, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
• You’re curious and willing to dive into the energy and trading sector (experience is a plus, but not a must).
